My status has been: Application has been submitted online Your electronic application has been received and is being processed ...
Your application is at your local Recruiter for initial processing.

It says all of my stuff is still waiting to be processed. How long does this normally take to change and cycle to a new status? I have completed all of the stuff except the statement of understand/drug agreement, but the LT who gave me my interview, told me he would get me in touch with a recruiter. Haven't heard anything back yet and the status has been the same for awhile now. Just curious as to what other peoples time-lines for the application looked like.

Thanks.

DS is in same situation. He received an email weeks ago requesting the drug forms, statement of understanding to be scanned and sent to another NROTC contact. All done, but application status not changed.

AFROTC and AROTC scholarship application sites update daily or better.

Perhaps just too early for NROTC staff to screen & process the documentation.

Tgun is correct it can take weeks, but it can also take days. I know you want to meet the 1st board, but you need to understand that the 1st board will more often than not, re-board many of the candidates.

There is a simple reason behind this, they want to see a larger pool of candidates before they determine where to award the scholarship.

I only say this because come August, many kids believe they will have an answer in a few short weeks. It is true they will have an answer, but the answer may be "You have met the board, and at this time you have been deferred to the next board"

You will go absolutely nuts if you sit over your computer like Snoopy over a dog bowl. Trust me, there were candidates that submitted in time for the August board and did not find out until after Xmas.

As we said on your other thread, the military is a HURRY UP and WAIT, WAIT and WAIT some more world. It works on the FIFO (1st In 1st Out) system, so if 1000 kids submitted before you, they will get to them 1st, and many kids want to meet the 1st board, so this is the time they are inundated with apps. Additionally, remember that AD members handling this process may be on leave, or PCSing, thus, they could be down a person to input.

Deep breaths.

Tgun,

Unless something has changed regarding AFROTC, which it very well could have, they typically only update 2x a week. Wed. and Friday. As for the AFROTC board results I believe LY they released within 2 weeks, but the yr prior to that it was closer to a month, if I recall. No need to stalk your portal, because trust me there will be someone on this site that does and this board will light up like a Xmas Tree. Same with NROTC and AROTC results. Many kids actually find out the results are released by looking on this site and seeing a thread stating board results are in.

I would also remind you that NROTC is notorious regarding board dates. Just because it says it will be held this day doesn't mean it will be. I won't swear by it, but I believe LY's Aug board was backed up by a few weeks.

The only thing that is a hard date is if they say all paperwork must be submitted by X date, than it must be submitted. There is a lot that goes behind the scenes to prepare for a board.

You will not have immediate turn around. NROTC receives thousands of applications starting in April.
These are just some over the course of @ 8 weeks. My point is after you read them you will start to see this is a marathon. 3 days between interview and no application change is nothing when you compare it to some that wait months to get the real answer...Scholarship or not, and than only to be told they were re-boarded again.

I hope this helps to gain perspective of what will becoming down your path TY. Good luck, and best wishes.
