NROTC Board Results In

Our son also received word re: NROTC scholarship today for Notre Dame. Anyone know if having the scholarship helps one get admitted? He's a ND NROTC legacy and has a sister doing AROTC there, but just curious if anyone has experience. Thanks.

if a sister is currently doing AROTC @ND, you/she should know better than anyone here in the forum.

I wish that were the case. She applied for and received her AROTC scholarship very late -- after being accepted to ND.

Just out of curiosity, is your son at ND doing NROTC now?
I have a son doing NROTC at ND...he's a sophomore. I also had a son graduate from ND a couple years ago, also NROTC...currently in flight school...happy to answer any questions

Thanks for the offer. My daughter who is in Army ROTC at ND has connected him with several mids , and we will link up with them when we go for another visit in a week and a half.

Congrats to all. DS got UVA. Need to learn about NROTC. DD class of 2019 at USNA and DS still holding out for UVA but wants to be a naval officer anyway possible.
My DD just received word that is she was awarded a 4 year scholarship for UVA (she already committed to attend UVA eschool whether she received the scholarship or not). Have you been able to gather any information about report time (indoc??), etc? My DD will be in Germany for a month after graduation and will return mid July so she is worried she might not make it back in time.

Well there is a required 3 week indoc at Great Lakes, plus whatever the college might do, usually the week before freshman normally report. There are two sessions at Great Lakes. I would recommend calling the unit at UVA and see what options, if any, might work for her. I have no idea if they are allowing new midshipmen to request the session dates, but any request would need to go through the unit anyway so calling is mandatory.

I pulled this from another post on this thread: https://www.serviceacademyforums.co...indoctrination-summer-2019.65352/#post-650943
