I've heard that the last board has already been conducted and that soon the navy will let people know, but that doesn't sound right. I thought there was one or two more boards.
I sent an email into HQ and they said the boards went "until" April - not sure what that means - do they meet in April, or end by April.... I think as long as the online status still reflects "no decision", we're still in the game.
Where did you hear that?!?!?!? If that's true, I just have no words to describe how disappointed I am. I have no idea whats wrong with my application...
Does anyone know if you can apply as a transfer to NROTC scholarships?
Could I attend a school that doesn't have an NROTC scholarship for a year, re-apply for an NROTC scholarship at a different school (and apply to that same school as a transfer) and go to the new school the next year in that unit?
Agree, Jagabiti - and there certainly could be a better system of communication established. My DS has heard nothing since late summer and his officer in charge won't even answer his emails.
My son just received word yesterday that he was selected for a 4 year scholarship, Navy option!! Hope this helps some! I had checked the nrotc website in the a.m yesterday, and his status read "No Decision has been made". Yesterday afternoon it read "Congratulations!
You have been selected for a 4-yr Navy Option scholarship.
You are assigned to the NROTC Unit at University of Memphis."
At first it was Vanderbilt. However, he did not get accepted (only 1800 get accepted each year and so far they have had over 25,000 applicants) so we changed his first choice to Memphis. It works out great since he has already been admitted to Memphis, offered the Dean's scholarship, and accepted into their Honors Program! He will be getting paid to go to college! woohoo!
