Has anyone experienced a medical emergency during college that has disqualified you temporarily from your NROTC scholarship? Were you able to get the scholarship resubmitted successfully? Do they expect you to be 100 percent when you return? is it better to request a leave of absence? Thank you for your time

What has your chain of command advised you?

This seems like a question best asked of your cadre / chain of command. You may hear different anecdotes here — encouraging or discouraging — but this is likely a situational decision. So go to the primary source.

P.S. Yet again (my lot in life 😉), cross-posted with @Capt MJ.

The above is more than correct. The other key factor is: Are you contracted? If yes, it's solely in the domain of your Commander and BUMED. If not contracted, it's solely in the domain of DoDMERB
