Does anyone know when the first Marine Option board will meet? I heard Nov 13-16 but am not sure if that is the correct date, but it is what I heard.

Lets just say that the above date is correct, however. When would we find out whether or not we have been awarded a contract? Sometime in late Nov, or early December, or even later? I know the Marines have two boards, so if you aren't told (on portal, I guess?), then has your package been rolled to the later date?

Can't confirm the dates but it should be some time in November. I wouldn't expect to hear for about a month. If you are not awarded a scholarship you will be automatically reboarded. Second board should be in February.

I don't think my DS heard a negative response on his scholarship application until early April. Fortunately, he had a good backup plan as a college programmer at his first choice college. This paid dividends during his sophomore year.

Prospective: Several years ago, my DS found out via the portal on Dec 23. His hard copy paperwork was dated Jan 5. At the time, I didn't realize there are only two boards but it seems clear he was selected on the first one.

I realize the wait is tough but hang in there. With the sequester this year, I suppose things could even be further delayed.
