Hi: Any idea on 2012 NROTC unit/college assignment. Our son is waiting on it, it past their tentative announcement date (Mid Dec.). Please shed some light. Thank you.

Kazi: Has your son been awarded a scholarship? If so he should receive a letter rather soon identifying the college(s) where he can use the scholarship.

If your son hasn't received a scholarship then he will be reboarded each month until he is awarded a scholarship or the final board has met. You may not hear definitively whether he has won a scholarship and the school it applies to, or has not won a scholarship, until April. Have plan B ready. There will still be time to execute it even if you don't hear until April as most colleges don't require replies to acceptance letters until May 1.

Hope you don't have to wait that long.
