I️ still haven’t heard back from USNA but I️ will soon, as the deadline approaches. My BGO said I️ probably won’t get in if I️ haven’t heard by now but I’m still hopeful for acceptance (even to NAPS)

1. I️ will be in Europe when all candidates hear back and I’m wondering how I️ should receive the news, because I️ can’t open my application status page anymore.

2. If I️ do not get in I️ will attend Temple University (NROTC thru UPenn) or Norwich to do NROTC. I️ did not get a scholarship this year. I️ was wondering how I️ apply for and get into the college program. Also if I️ am likely to commission that way.

3.I️ am planning on reapplying to USNA, I️ will improve my test scores and work hard in college. How are reapplying candidates viewed by the admissions board?

I can only answer this one. Contact the unit at the college you plan to attend. There is normally an application to fill out and a physical to be done. Also, many NROTC units have their midshipmen report early for freshman orientation. By contacting them they will be able to get you the necessary forms, etc. as well as let you know when to report, what to pack for orientation, and what courses you need to register for. I would suggest doing this in early May, if possible, as officers will disappear over the summer on temporary assignments, etc. Our son's freshman adviser replied to an email while he was in Afghanistan for the summer. It was not a vacation! :D
