NROTC Scholarship results?

If decisions do come out April 30th, and you are blessed to received the scholarship, but not at the school you want, how do you handle this?
 
Sounds great, but in reality with decisions due the 1st, and colleges not giving exceptions for extending deadline this could be a nightmare.

💯- the college our DS chose wasn’t listed in his top 5 (long story but it’s funny how a year of this process led him there!). He did ask this NROTC Battalion if they had room for him to transfer the scholarship (if he was awarded one) & they said yes. Just makes me a little nervous 😬.... I think if he’s lucky enough to be awarded one, we’ll figure it out! Good luck 🍀! The Lt. he met w/
(in charge of Freshman) said that kids were still transferring scholarships at NSI (in 2019). Even my son - who is honestly as cool as a cucumber about this all - said that sounded dicey 😂....

It is a crazy process!! Similar school thing with us. DS got into his number one choice, but not the program and the likelihood of getting into that program next year is super slim. Now we added a second caveat last minute -getting his first class medial this week just in case he will not be able to fly. He will revert back to engineering lol, and then he would go to his number one choice-just without the scholarship. Talk about last minute. The only savior is we know he will be going somewhere for college lol Best of luck!! I'm sure we will on be on here a ton in the next 24-36 hours.

Wow 🤩 - very impressed! DS is just over here trying to figure out how to get in 5 placement tests & putting off the fact that he should prob look for a roommate 🤪..... I hope your right & that they’ll know in a few days 🤞🏻. But, either way, they’re off to do some great things 🥰. He gets so much positive feedback on his Plan A- , I’ve really been trying to pray a prayer of thanksgiving for the amazing opportunity.... I definitely forget about that sometimes!

Thank you for this information - super helpful. Still @ “No Decision” for DS but I think we’re lucky because Plan A- is set, as a College Programmer if needed. I think I’m going to try to focus on all of the upcoming graduation/senior 👨‍🎓 activities to distract myself 😊....
 
Someone referred to their DoDMERB portal updating with their NROTC information. DS's portal only still shows his medical qualification for USNA. What has anyone else experienced? Thanks!

We received a text yesterday from the unit at DS's #1 choice. Then we checked his DoDMERB portal and saw the new activity from Navy ROTC. His NROTC scholarship portal this morning still shows "No Decision"....
