Hi I am currently part of the NROTC Program at Virginia Tech and I am currently applying to the Academy. I wanted to know my chances?

I am applying from the Annapolis District, that is where I am currently a resident from. I applied for a Senator nomination and his results don't come until the 31'st of January. I also applied for the NROTC nomination, and wont here for 1-2 weeks on that. I currently have a presidential nomination. I am also triple qualified and have my application completed. I got no C's my first semester in college as an engineer and received a 3.17 GPA taking Chemistry, Calculus 2, Engineering lab and class, First-Year Writing, Leadership, and Intro to Naval Science. Also my second time applying.

In high school I earned my Private Pilots license when I was 17, I also have an Advanced scuba qualification. I was a three sport varsity athlete in high school: Football, Wrestling, and Track and field. I was part of Math Honors Society, National Honors Society, and the chess club. I also tested out of Calculus Based Physics in college, Statistics as well as Calculus 1. I was wondering what type of chances you have with a triple qualification, and presidential? Also if the NROTC nomination is very competitive or not? Also what "Complete Pending Review" means for me? If it is a good or bad thing?

Complete pending review is neither good or bad. It's just what it says... your application is complete but it hasn't been reviewed yet.
Presidential nominations - many (hundreds) qualify but only 100 will receive an appointment
ROTC Nomination - I don't know if there is an upper limit on how many can be nominated via this route, but only a max of 20 will receive an appointment.

20 appointed from NROTC & JROTC programs. If I read the code correctly, this is 20 for the entire brigade, not per class.

USN-Ret, For some reason I can't PM you either. I can tell you that the spend the night with corps really is a great first hand experience of what life is like as a freshmen. The high schoolers wake up early to do PT with the cadet they are staying with, usually around 5:05 or 5:10. Then after PT they go back to the room with their cadet and watch how the cadet does room prep and uniform prep for formation at 7. They will then march to a regimental formation, and see the whole regiment present arms, and see the process of a daily life for a cadet. The NROTC program is great here at VT, the Naval Science classes are very interesting and the Advisers are awesome. If you have any questions feel free to ask me on here and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

Good day, sir. I am currently a sophomore in high school and my father has served 20 years in the Coast Guard. I was wondering all about gaining a Presidential Nomination and the process for it. I would like to go to the Naval Academy, Coast Guard Academy or the Air Force Academy and soon after become a pilot. Thank you. Zeek out!

The USNA admissions website has details on Presidential Noms. As a sophomore get very familiar with all the admissions websites of the schools you are interested in.

Thank you! I am looking directly into the Naval Academy and Air Force Academy to eventually become a fighter pilot.
