retaking the SAT is not required as your scores stay in the portal, however if there was a lot of room for improvement you may want to think about taking them again as this is part of your overall package. weigh in your own mind how much can you really improve, and how will that effort take away from other efforts you are making. for example, i think every effort should be made to get the highest grades in your college classes while excelling at your NROTC unit. dont let that slide just to go up 50-100 points on SAT. my DS didnt retake SAT (as it was fairly high) but instead focused on his PT scores and overall body strength during the summer prior to college (NSI helped to start that engine) and then he 100% focused on NROTC and school, taking the hardest classes available and he did receive an appointment by the next Feb. study hard & good luck!!
