Has anyone been receiving emails from DTS regarding "Please cancel this trip authorization and RE start a new document." and "This travel DOC cannot be approved."?
Seems like DTS is having trouble finding tickets or is there something wrong from my end?

You need to contact your unit. Typically this means someone changed a flight or other information after the initial cost had been approved. The DTS coordinator for the unit needs to resubmit the paperwork and the travel request will be approved again.

My DS is going to NSI 2 next week. Is it normal to not have any travel information or written orders from the Battalion? He's had contact with the battalion and they've taken information from him, but no hard info. yet. As a parent, I don't want to contact the battalion myself and embarrass him, but I'd really like to know what airport he's flying out of, when, and how he's getting from O'Hare to NSI.

Bottom of this page has all of the information about travel to and from NSI:

Your son needs to reach out to his unit about travel information or questions. It is not rare to not get travel tickets and orders until a week before you leave. I would highly recommend you refrain from contacting his unit really for most reasons except for emergencies. This is his journey, and he needs to deal with learning how to make travel arrangements. It is hard, believe me I know, but the only way he will learn is to do it.

My DS is at NSI (cycle 1). One piece of advise to parents of cycle 2 and 3. When they reach the USO at terminal 2, they get to make a short phone call. If you want to record it for your memories, it will happen very fast and you need to set up the recording beforehand. We didn't realize this, and sort of feel bad about it, so putting this on here.

To the OP, my DS got his tickets and orders only a week or so before he left if I recall correctly. But if you are worried, you can reach out to his NROTC unit.

Thank you all for the information! Definitely would rather let my DS take the lead on his adventure!

To all parents who are like me, going 24/7, "I wonder what my DS is doing at NSI today" :) there is another website you can look at for photos.
Since links are not permitted on this forum, you can search the following:

"Defense Visual Information Distribution Service"

I haven't been able to spot my DS yet (and I've tried various magnifying devices :)) but perhaps you all will have more luck.

@GWU PNS My DS was sent a letter today DQ him (which he expected). He was given an ISR 4-year scholarship. It seems from the language, he automatically begins the waiver consideration process. Does he still attend NSI? He is scheduled to attend a week from today, June 28. He already received his orders.

Yes, they all attend NSI. As far as I know, ISR is a specific type of selection for the NROTC scholarship, but all recipients do NSI before they go to college.

Thanks for the info!

DS's mother can't find a single pic of her baby! I'm thinking DS (MO) is just really good at camouflage and evading capture! :)

Ha ha :) Have spent last hour poring over DVIDS (they have some new pics today) but same here. My DS is also MO. The pics first arrive on DVIDS. Then they go to FB, so keep an eye on DVIDS. They are updating...I'll check again today evening. They have 36 pictures of this NSI cycle so far. Hoping to see 5-6 more by today eve. It says there that "pics might be going through approval for uploading" so I think there's more coming. Fingers crossed!

He should confirm with his unit. One question would be if he had the standard doctor physical completed for those who had not yet cleared or started the DODMERB process. Because he was selected for scholarship, the DQ will automatically start a review by BUMED.

But he should let the unit know of his DQ and verify that he should still head to NSI.

Very typical. Navy keeps you guessing. When Mid gets to ORD have them go directly to USO desk and they will take it from there. There is a bus to Great Lakes

No luck seeing our son in the pics either. But only three days to go!

NETC posted a link on their Facebook page to the NSI Session 1 graduation ceremony to stream live on Monday at 0900 Central Time. <--- removed FB Link -->
