I have taken the SAT and SAT with Essay five times and scored pretty well on them, including super score. However, I want a better score. I signed up for the October SAT and started studying September but the problem is I did not have much time to study. I have been only focusing on math because I believe that is where I can improve the most. But what if I take the October and my score decreases, will that affect me? In that case, should I not take October? What if I move the test date to December allowing me more time to study and get the score I desired, will that hurt me? Please give me suggestions, your thoughts, and/or your ideas!

FYI-By December, my application for WP would have been completed including notification if I got nominated and completion of DODMERB.

If take October-high chance I may not improve overall due to lack of study

If take December- chance of score improvement

If your score goes down, don't worry about it because the SAs superscore.

Even if you haven't prepared as much as you'd like for the October test, it's still worth taking it. Improvements come as much from repetition as from preparation. In other words, the fact that you've taken the test several times now gives you a familiarity and set of strategies that can push your score up, despite less preparation.

You have nothing to lose by taking the October test. Get a great score, then turn it in. Don't feel good about it, then take it again in December. The superscore is your friend here.
