Official 2016 AFROTC POC Selection Process Thread

Just remember we've all worked hard; I know a lot of people who had no choice but to go the 500 route; there is no shame in that. At the end of the day, you will be an officer.

can't wait to join the long line of kiddos waiting to report into the Col's office as soon as he comes in tomorrow!

Good luck to everyone who will be finding out the results tomorrow! I'm sure you'll do great in whatever you find yourself doing.

DS called, his det of 40+ cadets received a 100% selection rate. I don't think I should even bother sharing his stats.

I'm in a massive det and we find out at 1215...looking like pretty much everyone is getting in; AF really needs officers

Two years ago I started following this forum to see what numbers would be like for EA slots. I'm extremely excited to finally be one of those people who gets to post this...I got an EA!!!

Still waiting on results at my detachment, but friends from five different schools all say they had a 100% selection rate for their classes. Have yet to hear from anyone with less than that. Not to get anyone's hopes up, mine included, but it's looking like a good year for EAs.

Looking like the idea might be to make FT harder, and just send everyone/weed out there

In actuality, Field Training will be easier this year; it will be almost a week shorter and cadets will be afforded an extra hour of sleep. The reason we are seeing near 100% nation-wide so far is because the Air Force cut many officers through RIF two years ago. Essentially, General Welsh cut 25,000 airman in one year when Congress had given him five years to do so. Then the operations tempo changed dramatically and the Air Force realized their mistake and began to correct it. This was evidenced by the surge in OTS accessions and naturally AFROTC followed.
