Important news about CFA testing!
My DS attended the USNA summer seminar (NASS) and loved every minute of it last summer. He took the CFA there, and they said he "passed" but he did not know or remember his scores from that test. The USNA will allow you to retake the CFA and re-submit newer and improved scores. However, when my son was going to have his scores forwarded from the USNA directly to the USAFA, we were fortunate to have our AF Counselor tell us NOT to send the scores if they were't really good. Well, he had no idea if they were good or not, so he called the Naval Academy, spoke to a counselor there, and had the scores forwarded directly to my son. My son learned that all of his scores were good except for his running time. So, the Air Force said, "Do NOT send in the scores if they are not good." So, we hired a trainer to work with my son and he improved every single score and most importantly, his mile-run time.
Then, once the new scores were ok, we forwarded THOSE scores and NOT the scores from NASS last summer which were not so great. The Air Force has stricter standards than the Naval Academy so this advice from his counselor was critical. My son would have been in the same boat as Profsparrow's son if he had not known to improve his scores BEFORE he submitted them. The Air Force only allows ONE set of scores to be submitted for the CFA. You cannot retake the test and resubmit new scores. Fortunately, we had never submitted the NASS scores. This was a huge and critical blessing for our son.
