Yes, Cadets walk hundreds of miles in them. DS loves his, they are worth the money!
Never buy cheap footwear to save a buck IMO.....

My experience in basic training is that the difference between the two is shin splints. Definitely want to splurge on the Durashocks!

My son just received his Durashocks at MMI. He said that they are a lot more comfortable than what he had been wearing for LQ's.
