From the CS&D
2.8.2.1.4. Elevators. C4Cs will not use elevators under normal circumstances. C4Cs may use elevators when medically required, when moving objects that require an elevator with permission of an upper-class cadet, or for removing bulk items of trash.

I'd be surprised if your DD would have been prohibited from using the elevators if she asked. That being said, I'm sure some squadrons do stuff like that.

While Doolies are technically not allowed to have non-issued bedding, if you hypothetically put a mattress pad in your trunk every morning, I don't believe they can check there. Hypothetically, of course :zip:
As you said, squadron dependent.

Also, about what % of cadets have parents who come for A-day? I’m not sure even one of us can come for that and also Parents Weekend.

Do we know the date of A-day this year?

Probably August 5th. Don't know percentage, but I get the impression it's 50% or less...if you have to choose, parents weekend is much better to spend time with cadet.

Everything is fair game in a surprise MWH inspection. They are looking for real contraband like drugs and alcohol, but every locked drawer or trunk is going to be opened in those.
True. Although, when my random inspection was completed, it was done by my AMTs, and they said the trunk was the one place they didn't check. I was honestly surprised by this. Is this normal procedures? Love the story

Neither parent flew out for A-day due to logistics/cost. DD was fine with that and didn't seem to be in the minority of no parents there for A-day. It seems parents that came were because they lived close with some flying in. We did speak with her on the phone that day and had a great conversation.

We did go for parent's weekend and most cadets did have parents come in for that. Although, there are always cadets that don't have family come in for those too and be sure to reach out and invite them along to join your family.

If we're being picky, C4Cs are authorized mattress toppers following the first SAMI of fall semester (CS&D 4.5.4 Table 4.1). Up to the 4-dig on whether or not they actually have it under the SAMI sheets...

Wait were we allowed to put one under the SAMI sheets? (after the first SAMI, as you said)
