Hello! I'm currently working on my Pre Candidate Questionnaire for the academies and it says that submitting standardized test scores is optional. Would it be advantageous for me to submit my SAT test score (if it is in the 1200 range) or just wait to send my official scores once I have retaken the SAT? Will submitting my score potentially put me at risk for not being moved to candidate status?

Good question.

I'd submit them unless they're really low (think low 500s in either category). If you're sitting on 1200+, send it up.

The scores, in and of themselves, with the PCQ won't block you unless you're below the USAFA minimums...which they won't tell you what they are (think less than 550 in either). I just tell my candidates that, realistically, if you're not in the mid-600s in each area, you're low on the competitive ladder.

Remember that USAFA superscores so they take the highest section from different administrations if that helps you
