Your are going to like at University Park. My DS is a graduating senior there. The Creamery is awesome, too. If you any help let, me know I am in Harrisburg.
I love the campus, and I also loved the ice cream! Im heading up there from Texas on the 18th for the admitted engineers visit. I can't wait to see the campus again, I also really want to talk to the ROTC guys up there. I can't find much information about Penn's NROTC, it seems all the other ROTCs have a website except for Navy..
Your right website is weak. But, has I saiid great program. The footbal team plays Navy on, Saturday, September 15th, at Beaver Stadium. Will be ordering tickets soon.
It might serve you well the read "Lone Survivor". When you walk in the unit you will see more but to know prior would have a larger impact. I leave you only with the thoughts and hope that you read the book. Our family has been to the unit and the book has been around the family. The officers there were very welcoming and eager to give guidance. Safe trip!
That site is filled with college applicants, students, parents and alumni. Although you may not find a thread there regarding NROTC, if you start a thread and ask about the unit people will voice their opinions.
NROTC is big there, and I am willing to bet my beloved Myrtle (avatar) that someone will respond who knows someone in the unit, be it roommate or child or friend, and give you connections for you to gain more insight.
It is also great because it is a wealth of info for applicants regarding life there and insight on everything from dorm selection to meal plans to class profs.
