Hi so I was wondering if I get selected for an AROTC scholarship, will I have to interview with one of my intended schools to receive it?

No, it's not necessary, but I imagine it's preferable. My son interviewed at a school that wasn't on his list at all, and he did get a scholarship to his top 3 choices.
ooh I see, did your son have to do additional interviews for his top 3 or did they just accept his scholarship?

DD also interviewed with a PMS at school not on her list. She received a 4 yr and the school she wants to attend didn't require another interview. She did meet ROO and PMS on a visit but nothing formal.

Mine didn't do any additional interviews, but he had done an overnight program at his #1 school. He didn't meet the ROO or PMS while he was there, but they definitely knew his interest level. His #3 contacted us via e-mail, but were not going to require an interview. Never heard from #2. --- Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but for a school to end up on your list of offers, they have to say whether they would take you, or want you or something? I would love to have some clarification on how that last part happens or did happen.

Yes, the ROO or PMS has to select on whether they think you would get accepted by the school and whether they recommend you for a 3 or 4 yr scholarship to their school. If you get a 4YR offer, you usually get the offer to the top 3 schools that said yes to your application. Those who get a 3YR typicall get 1-2 offers to the top 1-2 schools that said yes.

You only require one PMS interview for the scholarship application, and that can be any school that has an Army PMS. Unfortunately, some schools will try to disuade you from taking the interview at their school, if you haven't put them in your top 7, but that is the wrong answer.

I would recommend at least talking to the ROO at the schools are your top choices so you can ask them specific questions about their program.
