Does anyone know the average PFT scores for scholarship award winners for AROTC? Is it typical for scholarship winners to have "maxed" the test? Thanks.

Not sure if it is still true, but I remember reading a couple of years ago that the average score for Army ROTC scholarship winners was 138. Equates to nearly maxing out pushups and curl-ups (50 each for men), and running better than a 7-minute mile. Of course, that is average, so there are scholarship winners below that as well.

I suck at push-ups but I can max out the curl-ups and mile run. Should I be worried?

I would look at it like this.
The PFT is a variable in the scholarship you control. Max the score. Don't worry about doing enough to get something based on X number. You will be a leader of men and women and they will expect you to lead from the front. I would expect my leaders to score high on the regular Army PT exam.

If "I suck" equals "I cannot pass", then you can worry. But you could just train to no longer suck.
Are the passing number of reps posted anywhere?

Push ups can be improved the quickest. Just have to knock out set after set during the day. The summer would have been the best time, but with school starting next week or soon after, you will have to find the time before and after.

is anyone sure what the max is for the Army ROTC PFA for scholarship applicants? I’ve read a couple different threads that seem to think it’s 50-50-6:13 for men, but haven’t seen that officially anywhere.
DS just did his, and he used these as a guide and was able max each event based on these standards. but it does seem to be ambiguous as to what it takes to get a maximum score, unless we’re missing something.

I recommend you reach out to the ROO at your local university. The ROO for Clarkston U is a regular poster on this forum, so he may be able to answer your question in the near future.

(2nd board applicant) 4 year scholarship winner here, my scores were

57-46-7:15

I was upgraded to 4 year from 3 years on last board.

I would say always strive to max everything you do. Once you do that, do more. You are competing with everyone in the country for a scholarship. If you're a female, upper body strength is a must. My daughter got a 4-year AFROTC Scholarship and has been doing pushups since the 7th grade. She started small and built up to 50 3X a day. ROTC's can get all the kids they want with good grades, but getting someone with the whole picture is tough and competitive. I have to say it's very empowering for her when some boy challengers to a pushup contest and she puts the smack down on them. She also maxed the sit-ups and was 2 points from making the run. She called me this morning and said she was out running. why? Because she wants to keep doing better. Good luck
