Is it normal for someone from the Academy to call about finishing a portion of the application? DS has two weeks to finish CFA retake and they called today to ask when he planned on finishing it. Just thought it was strange and hadn't seen anyone else say anything about this happening.

ive been getting emails asking me if I plan to finish but not any phone calls.

A = The right answer would have been for DS to ask the caller............................. No better answer than from the source themselves

I would assume they're interested and get the app complete. No downside to err in that direction.

One of the scenarios could be they have his nom slate and are working on figuring out the ranking (and who gets the offer of appointment) by scoring the applications. Just one incomplete application can delay resolution of that slate.

If the candidate has another 14 days to submit a new CFA, I’d be targeting Day 7 rather than Day 13.

Git ‘er done.
Gets it submitted well within the window offered. Does not tempt Murphy’s Law to kick in and derail completion: illness, injury, sudden non-availability of venue or administrator, family issue, Mother Nature, etc.

Definitely was hoping/thinking it was positive otherwise why would he take the time to call. Will have DS train a teeny bit harder to make sure he does his best (and hopefully this will encourage him to run faster!).

You and your son know the best approach to prepare. Some cycling and running amateurs and pros usually go easy the week before the big event. Gives their bodies time to rest and recover from prior training. YMMV
