Photo needed for nomination application

Two of my nominating sources require a photo as part of the nomination application. Do they just want a headshot, like a school photo, or is any picture that I am the only person in okay?
...Or should I just call at their office and ask?

call their office. I know for our DS they wanted a passport size photo, but I recall others were allowed to send any type of photo. Basically, they just want to place a face with a name for the interviews.

I took a new photo of my son in a shirt and tie so that I'd have a nice shot of him to send in whenever admissions offices asked for a photo.
