Hi, USMA Cadet here. PLEASE CONTINUE TO WORK HARD ON YOUR APPS. THE ACADEMY LOVES WHEN YOU GET STUFF DONE EARLIER!!! You make their jobs a lot easier and when you do that you are more likely to receive their help. You never know when it's your admission officer's day to rank your file for the next round of LOAs, offers, etc. and if they see that you have been working hard and getting your file completed ahead of time there is a better chance of being ranked higher. Keep working hard and don't get discouraged! I know that you've probably heard all of this before but I know my attitude about the application would have changed if I had heard from a cadet and not just an old grad or my old man; so I write this to encourage you to keep working and trying. Even if you get a letter saying that you need to improve your file, I know there's not much time to change things but it is definitely still possible to get your foot in the door so don't count yourself out just yet. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

@mrmk, kudos to you for delivering all the candidates here an unofficial yet very important LOE — letter of encouragement! Great to share the lessons you learned.

I received an email this morning that said I got a new official correspondence in my portal. I got super excited and thought it was an LOE or LOA, but it was a request for more information. And now I see this thread. What are the odds haha

DD would kill for USMA to send her that communication right now
My regional commander sent it to all candidates in the NE region to inform them of what they need to complete to finish their application.

Everything is submitted, and we have been told it’s definitely coming, but just another thing to add to the waiting game 🤣🤣🤣

The more my DS get emails from him the least my DS wants to go there. The only outstanding item for DS, that has been pending since August, is to submit one CFA video and the general attitude from the DS is that he would get it done sometime before the application deadline. The breaking point for him was when he received an email back in August telling him that he needed to improve his leadership for the 2nd time, which was clearly written without any of his submissions being looked at. His application has been pretty much completed since mid-August and he knows his self worth, as there has been zero indication that USMA is remotely interested in him then he is moving on with other options.

I would be happy to talk to you or your DS about West Point, the application, what USMA looks for and so on if you'd like. Send me a DM and we can set up a time to talk.
