Plebe summer 2027

I am kinda accurate to 1000+ yards with a tuned D.O.P.E., and qualified Expert in the Army. I might have a little bit of shooting experience. ;) But, I know what you're talking about. They don't exactly have a precision rifle with a bad azz scope or a tuned AR at the Academy. You run with what they give you. :p

She wrote that she qualified with rifle and will get to wear a ribbon. I believe that's below the highest level, but I'm still proud. I took her to the range on occasion growing up.

Her recent letters have been much more upbeat lately. I think I may actually sleep some tonight.

We also received a letter on the back of our DD's qualifying target. Love it!
 
They made it to August. That mentally is a huge milestone. They can all day PPW is this month, reform is this month, academic year is this month. All great milestones. Then come September and they realize Plebe Summer was so much nicer. 😂

... 1000 yards---> 914 meters. I take it there's a scope. Good shooting. Ever since I can remember, think my SF instructors drilled this on my head, focus on breathing and correct sight picture. I started to pass this to DS prior to IDay. Mostly dry fire-dime drill, inhale, exhale, release-hold, squeeze. I've always zeroed with three rounds in a 25m target; six rounds to confirm.
