Plebe Summer

I have read many things about plebe summer and watched videos on youtube and stuff like that, but one thing I am unclear about is haircuts. Maybe this seems superficial but what is the requirement for females? I know it has to be cut above your collar, but are you allowed to pull it back into a bun? And is the haircut just required for plebe summer or is it re-cut every so often?

As of now, you have to have it cut above your collar on I-day. You can arrive with it in regs, but they will still probably cut it some more. After that, you can let it grow and keep it in a bun. This may be changing, as Navy is doing a test program of not cutting women's hair when they first come in, not sure if this will carry over to USNA or not.
