I definitely think masks, emphasis on hygiene and social distancing has probably helped with hack. I also think we haven’t seen it as much yet as the first two weeks weren’t physically taxing. Their bodies are now feeling the effects of being pushed to the line and the break down of the body and being more susceptible to picking up the hack just is delayed this year. With Plebe Summer ‘ending’ sometime in the next week or two, they may not have the mass hack out break they usually get as reform will bring them back to a more normal schedule and less physically taxing. All good things in my mind for reform and the transition to classes.
