Police Record Check

Hi everyone, I just had a question about the police record check- can it only be submitted by the candidate portal? I just gave it to my local police station with an envelop for them to send it in because the instructions on the form said to have it mailed to the admissions office, however on the portal there is a location for it to be uploaded. Would only having it be mailed in suffice?

I can only speak to last year, but we followed instructions and provided PD with properly addressed and stamped envelope and it was confirmed received later by admissions.

I went to my sheriffs office, they filled it out in like 5 minutes, then I scanned it and uploaded it to portal. Next day it had a green check on it.

I WISH it was like that for me. Anyone else in NYC had problems? Apparently local precincts can't do a background check or fill out a form that's not from the NYPD, which is crazy, and I had to go to the headquarters downtown. And then I was told even they can't fill out USMAs tiny form either and have to do their own extensive background check. But get this, it takes 10 business days and all appointments are booked until July. And then they required a letter from the Army telling them I need it done by June 1st so I could get an earlier appointment. Now I'm waiting on a captain to send it in. At least I started everything early knowing something was probably gonna go wrong lmao
