2KPsons was a lot nicer than I was going to be so stop trying to justify/clarify your mistake (innocent or not).

A lesson for indoc ... keep your eyes/ears open and your mouth shut. When (not if) you get yelled out just say "Yes sir/ma'am" and move on.

KP Engineer -- That goes without saying. Of course I have the common sense to take orders with a simple Yes Sir/Ma'am when the time comes...But this isn't indoc...It's just a forum.

Dang, you guys are rough today . Can't say I blame him for saying what he did. Appointees are really supposed to know the intricate minutiae of regimental life before showing up to Indoc?

I would have been screwed!

Hehe, I was. I missed first Plebe Liberty because I was on restriction. . . . oops. . . .

I think we should put together a cadre of SAF drill instructors. We can yell at 2019'rs, just to erm you know get em' prepared for whats to come.

The first words I recall my DI saying to me ... "Drop your bags".

The second words I recall my DI saying to me ... "I didn't say on my foot."

The point wasn't that he didn't that he wasn't a part of the regiment. The point was that he felt the need to explain and justify himself. Just say OK and move on.

I see it all the time with Millennials. They don't take yes for an answer and everything has to come to some sort of kumbaya, happy resolution. I end up having long, unnecessary conversations and email discussions. Just say OK and move on already! Eventually I get tired of it and just walk away.

The one thing that I remember most from the first few days of Indoc was the smell of sweat and new khakis. . . . . THAT smells like fear. . . .

AMEN!

Amen on the sweat. The best part of Sunday was being able to take a shower for as long as you wanted.

I learned quickly to keep your peripheral vision on the lookout where you can easily spot long pants ... long pants = danger danger danger!
