Hello, I'm new to posting on this forum but I have come here often for help. I received a small white postcard in the mail on Friday October 16th. It had one simple sentence that stated "Your admission's file is now complete."

I'm just curious as to why it took so long to get that postcard, as I finished my application on August 31 when I submitted my CFA.

Also, if it took that long for my file to register as complete, would that mean that my file would not have went up in front of the admissions board yet?

I got the same thing just days ago and I had my file complete before school started. Maybe they just sent it to everyone at once, maybe its a sign your file went up before the board. I got an LOA on Saturday but there probably isn't any connection between that and getting that post card, at least not that I know of.

It just means they have received everything and you don't need to send anything else in (Not including Nominations).

You'll learn that all paperwork here takes....well....some time. Not to worry.

No it means our computers finally got around to generating you a postcard to say that in case your computer crashed we acknowledge you have submitted a complete package.

You will also receive these postcards days/weeks after formal notification from your MOC regarding your nom.

IT is called bureaucracy!

Stuff in mail from AFA

Expect to continue to get postcards, etc for some time. Christmas Card ...

Worst one for us was about 2 weeks after file was complete he received a package from the Academy. He rushed home after whatever practice to rip open ...

a dvd from the Academy on how cool it was to go there.

The other funny part of mail from the Academy was the notification process.

1) We parents receive invitation from AOG to join. Our cadet needs to sign the authorization and return it. (we, of course, didn't mention this to him)

2) Phone call comes from Congressman's office, which he misses on a Friday night until Saturday afternoon at 3 pm.

3) Fat envelope comes about a week later, finally.

Hope the 2014's are enjoying this year. Can't control much from here on in anyhow.

-D:rolleyes:
