need some to go, who is the best??

Boatyard! My plebe specifically wanted to go there for crab dip before reporting back on Sunday of PPW because it’s her all time favorite.

You can’t stay in business in Annapolis for long with bad crab anything. Any of the long-established places downtown, along West St., in Eastport.

If you want to avoid DTA, go to Mike’s on the South River, down Riva Rd and over the South River bridge. Old-school, been-there-forever Chesapeake Bay crab deck restaurant, generous portions with generous crab.

Go walk along their deck and enjoy the night water view.

This is the recommendation, go no further. :)

I can make any kind of tasty dish here at the house in about 15 minutes …. That’s why I don’t eat out anymore.

It’s strange to me that there aren’t more Americana style (Brisket, Pulled BBQ, etc) mobile food vendors set up in the parking lot(s) at Navy football home games. …. One of the main reasons I keep going back to the Budds Creek Motocross Nationals every summer just south of Annapolis is because of all the food vendors that haul their big spits and cookers to these events. It’s the best food in the world. Dirt riders know how to cook.

Outdoor events should be all about really good food …. Am I correct?

We do have a parking spot with our name on it in the Stadium Tailgaters section …. I guess we’ll have to start bringing our grill to the games.

It’s because USNA NAAA has a controlled list of allowed caterers groups can use at their tailgaters in the parking lots or other stadium venues. It’s either that or private tailgating. The stadium has a contract with Sodexho for food concessions, plus a small number of approved food vendors in the concourse. It’s all about the revenue.

Crab soup at the Alley was tasty tonight.
Glad to see you got your airline arrangements sorted out. We tried stopping at Chris' Greek establishment on West Street for some gyros only to find it boarded up. Did Mexican food nearby. Disappointing. Need to get back to the southwest for the real deal. Hoping to get some oysters in this weekend too.

I hope you have the Memphis team singing the blues. What's on tap for tomorrow's tailgater?

@WT Door …. We do easy stuff … pack sandwiches and chips/salsa … Wife and her sister will bring a bottle of wine or 3 … I never consume the alcohol … agua for me.

WT - that’s where the violent tornado touched down about a year ago. Destroyed that strip, a natural foods store across the street, took out the McD’s sign, and other glass fronts in the immediate area.

Locals were saddened to know the long-time home-style Greek Chris’ Charcoal Pit would not re-open.

For your next trip, I recommend Paul’s, another long-time Greek family place a bit further down West St. toward Spa Circle. It’s one of the last remnants of the thriving Greektown community pushed out by redevelopment of that “gateway” Spa Circle area, replacing homes and small businesses with living quarters above with Spa Circle, the Westin, condos, retail buildings. Not quite as casual as Chris’ but very good and definitely a “local gem.”

We ended up along that stretch of West street. So sad. Ordered crab dip and extra pitas from Double T, which is my ensigns favorite crab dip. Took it to go and ate on the porch. Amazinggggggg

Will hit up your recommendation tonight, capt MJ. Now that you have added a photo, it’s calling my name.

So this was a little confusing…didn’t have my phone for reference. Ended up at Mikes. Vs Mikes on the South River. They are side by side! Literally. Unless they are actually the same place. But Mikes was REALLY good. Highly recommend.

Paul's, Mike's, Arturo's and Cantler's. So many good recommendations and so little time. The salmon and rice in King Hall were pretty good today and the rainbow sherbet at Storms after the p-rade was refreshing.

Just had to pop in from the Navy game. Grazing in the tall grass today. DH’s reunion and a few other invitations. I’m in full dress game day, actually wearing the pin that is my avatar.

I think I passed by that box with a nice view on my way to the Blue and Gold for a cold one. Hope you all had a great weekend. Everyone we met was friendly and enjoying themselves.
