Is it too late to apply for some of the military prep schools (MMI, ? I've heard of them, but know almost nothing about them. I want to re-apply to Westpoint and want the best shot at doing so. Is there anything I can do at this point in time?

Have you looked at their websites? They should provide information such as application process and deadlines. Also, if you know almost nothing about them, their websites should be helpful with the basic information you seek. An institution’s website is always a good place to start.

You should have time to apply as my DS applied and was accepted at NWP and MMI after his TWE last April. But as MidCakePa stated start, with websites. There are also a number of discussions on this forum about these schools and what they offer and how they differ in approach. Also, as to MMI, their Service Academy Program Director, LTC Bowen, is very helpful. Give him a call as well.

If I recall correctly, MMI accepts applications until May 1st. You still have time to apply .

Ditto on LTC Bowen, he was awesome when I called him!

If you want the best chance of really anything enlisting in the Nat Guard is kinda the move. You get access to service-connected nomination (which all you have to do for is get your commander to sign a short eval form) and are able to compete for a number of fixed enlisted slots which have seldom been filled in recent years. Obviously this is only recommended if you’d otherwise be willing to serve your full contract in the Guard. Basic training/OSUT’s really not worth going through just for an increased shot at USMA though so def take this as a scorched-earth method.

My DD went to NWP as a self prep and is a yuk at West Point. They do a great job of strengthening your application. Raising test scores and cfa. They bring in speakers from all of the academies that were once NWP students to talk about the opportunities at each academy. As self prep they encourage you to apply to all academies and actually changed my DD top choice from USAFA to USMA. It was a better fit for her.
if you don’t need to raise your test scores strengthen your application in one of the ways I mentioned then I believe the academies recommend going to college and taking a plebe like course load, if they have rotc that would be a bonus.
the academies do look favorably on reapplicants so you will be in good company when you reapply.
