Presidential Nomination

Looking at the Appointment thread for the C/2025, I've noticed that there has been nobody appointed with just a presidential nomination. I assume this means those with only presidential nominations to USNA will be notified on admission decisions later than those with moc or Sen nominations, because there are only 100 slots available for presidential noms per year and they have to take into account where they will be allocating the other noms. Does this sound right? And has this been the pattern most years?

The appointment thread is a tiny data slice, entirely dependent on those who find SAF and self-report. There is no way of knowing how many appointments have been charged to Presidential noms at this point.

There are several appointees who have Presidential noms as well as others, but the nom the appointment is charged to is unknown, and may not be known until the mid goes and digs it up somehow.

I know a guy in the Class of 2025 who was selected from the presidential nomination pool. He’s not on the forums as far as I’ve seen.

Agree (as always) with CAPT MJ. I have a candidate with an appointment based solely on a Presidential nom so they are out there. First, this site is not necessarily a microcosm or subset of the applicant pool. Second, some folks lurk and don't post. Third, for various reasons, some might not list all of the noms they received.

DS has only Presidential nom this year (re-applicant). Our MOC asked if he would give up a Congressional nom this year because there were so many in our district who wanted noms and he has the Presidential. MOC gave him a nom for a different SA though. Supposedly, it may help candidate to get multiple noms but this year, DS only has Presidential. We'll see...still waiting.
