    Hi,

I was wondering if someone could explain the function of the "preview..." option when creating a thread.

    Thanks.

It allows you to take a look or "preview" of what the post will look like after posting, but without it going "live."

'Kind of a "measure twice, cut once" type of thing.

As AROTC-dad said, it's meant to allow you to check your post before actually posting it. As an example, you might preview if you want to make sure your inline attachment looks the way you think it will.
