Principal Nomination?

Hi everyone,

Although I haven't turned in my essays into my preferred academy yet (last thing on the list; already done with everything else including CFA and DODMERB), I got a principal nomination for said academy. Does this mean I'm basically guaranteed admission?

USNA isn’t required by law to appoint principal nom, but usually do.

Others are required to.

It does not. Not unless and until you’re deemed 3Q, i.e. triple qualified. That means academically, physically (CFA) and medically (DODMERB). If check, check, check — then yes, virtually guaranteed of offer of appointment.
