Private Christian Universities/Colleges ROTC

NW Nazarene Uni ROTC

Northwest Nazarene University ROTC
I am reaching out to see if there are other programs similar to Northwest Nazarene University ROTC in order to better understand how various programs at small Universities are facilitated. We have a student body of a little over 1000 resident undergraduate and graduate students. I appreciate any feedback.

Yes, Cedarville University has crosstown agreements for Army and Air Force ROTC and it is a Christian college, although not quite as small as the one you mention. There are about 33 AFROTC cadets and about 60 or so AROTC cadets who commute from Cedarville.

My DS is applying to only small Christian schools that also offer AROTC. Olivet Nazarene has an on campus program, Cedarville University has a program, Bethel College Indiana has cross-town with Notre Dame, and Buena Vista University has a program (about 900 students on campus so a very small school).

BVU is his first choice with ONU as second.

My DS is a junior at BVU in Storm Lake. It is a small program but is attached to a large program at Iowa State University. There are two other small Iowa schools (Drake and Grandview) that are also attached to ISU as well. He loves the program there are both contracted and non-contracted cadets involved. He is very happy at BV and since it is a small unit he has been able to be very active with in the unit taking on many leadership roles.

Wheaton College hosts the AROTC Rolling Thunder battalion, with large cross-town contingents at Olivet Nazarene University and Lewis University. As I understand it, ONU and Lewis have their own classes and PT on their campuses. The Rolling Thunder logo has three lightning bolts to signify the three main schools in the battalion. I don't know much about ONU and Lewis as schools, but I highly recommend the Rolling Thunder battalion. Feel free to PM me if you have questions.
