Hi all,

I have been reading these forums for quite a while and now with my 3rd child applying to AROTC (had it ready for the October board) I seem to have a lot more questions because so many things have changed.

My husband and I were both AROTC 4 year scholarship 1986 graduates and served for 4 years in the Quartermaster Corps.

My first child (son) received a 4 year AROTC scholarship in 2008 but is also an athlete at the DI school he chose to attend and could not manage both the AROTC and the sport so he had to drop ROTC.

My daughter was awarded a 4 yr AROTC scholarship in 2009. She is also an athlete at a DI school but was able to manage both athletics and AROTC at her school. She is a sophomore who just had her swearing in ceremony last month!

My 3rd child (son) is a senior and now in the application process for AROTC.

This is a great forum...I have had many questions answered and hope I can add some insight to our experiences.

Welcome 5rad!
What a rich history of ROTC in your family! :thumb:
You do bring up a good point.
Even with your background, the need to keep current is vital as the application process can change from year to year.
Glad you found the Forums helpful in child #3's quest for an AROTC scholarship.

:welcome1:
