Question about appointments

Good evening everyone! I’m a long time stalker on here and sure do appreciate all the great information that is available for all of us hopeful parents! I thought I’d make it official, register, and post a question on here for the first time.

Our son is still anxiously waiting to hear from USAFA, as are we of course! He’s got a great Plan B lined up with a type 7 AFROTC scholarship at Utah State, but obviously would love to go direct to the Academy, prep, or Falcon Scholarship.

My question for you all is: I’ve noticed reading thru the current appointment list thread that there are no appointments thus far from Utah. Is there anything that would suggest there has to be appointments made for candidates from Utah (or at least one from every state for that matter) for the class of ‘26?

Yes, there will be appointments from Utah this year. However, they won’t necessarily have to post on this forum. On average we only have about 15% of appointments posted here. Best of luck to your son.

There have been appointees from every state. I know of at least 3 from UT. That being said, remember that it's not over until it's over!
 
Thank you both for your replies and info!! We are still hoping for the best, although my son has a great outlook on his Plan B and moving forward regardless and reapplying as needed for USAFA.

3 from Utah? This is good to know. Is this info from an internal network you have? I have seen very little (if any) Utah info posted on SAF. I realize about 85% of appointees don’t post, but just curious if there’s other sites/info I’m missing. What’s your source?;)
 
I'm in touch with 10 or so from my state, and I have an appointee friend in UT who knows of a few in his. Most of the people I know were either at Boys State, mutual friends, or reached out to me on Instagram. The people I know from UT are from a mutual friend.
