On the list of "recommended" items to bring for I-Day/plebe summer, it suggests white sports bras. I have purchased white sports bras, but they are reversible, making it black on the inside. Was it a mistake to purchase these, as I might get hassled even more for these? Or should I take them back and purchase completely white ones? Thank you. I'm probably just being paranoid about this, but I don't want to make more trouble for myself than necessary, heh.

GO NAVY, BEAT ARMY!

No one will be analyzing your bras in detail. The reason they are supposed to be white is primarily that you will be wearing them under white T-shirts (that do get sweaty and thus a bit damp), and under summer white uniforms. Thus, as long as the part that shows is white, including when you fold them so they look uniform in your locker, you're fine. In all honesty, you could probably get away w/beige but I'd still stick with white.

The same is true for panties, BTW. When you wear them under summer whites, they tend to show -- at least the lines do. So, I would stick with white and definitely skip thongs and other skimpy types as they just don't look good/professional.

...as long as it is colorfast. Can they take boiling without leaving everything gray?

Hmmm, that makes me wonder: can UnderArmour stuff be boiled?

Maybe it would help to wash the sports bras ahead of time? That way, if anyone else's clothing was being washed with mine, they wouldn't get stained black or anything.

My daughter is at USMA but from what I hear the results of the laundry are the same. EVERYTHING is returned gray.
She went to beast with white sports bras and underwear - I saw it and it was all dingy gray. Moral - buy cheap stuff! If you bring your own underwear (because you prefer bikini's over granny panties) get a couple of 6 packs of Hanes or Fruit of the Looms and be prepared to ditch it. Consider washing your sports bras in your sink if that's possible, esp if they were expensive.
Save the Victoria's Secret lingerie for the academic year and NEVER send it in the laundry!

^^^^^

True. The laundry is murder. I would take my "clean" clothes home at Christmas and rewash them. The dirt would literally pour out. Seems some things never change.
