Does going for an appointment at one service academy hinder your chances in any way for an appointment to another? Thank you and have a great night.
 
Absolutely not. Each SA is an independent entity and makes its own decisions based on its own criteria (even though their processes are similar). One’s assessment of and decision on you has zero bearing on the others.
 
To received multiple SA appointments, I think the key is to earn separated nominations for each SA you apply, which is very hard for some states. I am sure all of them share one medical qualification from DoDMERB.

Understand that you asked about "appointments." If you are offered an "appointment" by all 5 Academies, you select one and do the courtesy of notifying the others of your decision.
 
Nominations, are a different story and yes. DoDMERB applies for all Academies and ROTC programs:wiggle:

No...in fact it’s very common. Additionally, so are parallel applications to ROTC scholarship programs.
 
No, our son had his choice of WP or USAFA. Our congressman let him choose which he wanted the nom for.
