Hey SAF!

Yesterday I got a letter from my congressman telling me I got a nomination from him to West Point (which I was super surprised about because I had interviewed two days earlier for that nom)! I was excited because I also have a letter of assurance, which means that an appointment should be on its way. However, the nomination has yet to appear in my USMA candidate portal online.

My question is this:
Do congressmen have to pick all 10 nominees at once, or is it possible that they pick them on a rolling basis.

I ask this because if the latter is true then I'll probably have to wait until everyone gets picked for them to send their list of nominees to west point...

USMA,

The slate is not rolling. He submitted 10 names at once. That is why they say submit by X date on your MOC paperwork. Submitting 3 months earlier won't get you the nom faster than the candidate who submitted on the due date. The slate is released as a slate.

Cupcake is correct if you are 3 Q with the LOA you will be appointed. LOA is different. All they say is be 3 Q with a nom. You have the nom. If you are 3 Q'd you will have an appointment. If you aren't it may require you to fix an area. For example: Fail the CFA, they may request you to retake it.

Wrap yourself in bubble wrap. Congrats!

Thanks! Yes, I am 3Q'd; I passed the CFA, my academics are A-Okay, DoDMERB-cleared. So I guess I just have to wait now!
