Questions, Chatter, Congrats for the 2026 USAFA Appointment Thread

Hello all. My DS has received an appointment from USMA, but is holding out for USAFA or USNA. WRT USAFA, what indication on the portal will there be to indicate a decision (hopefully an appointment)? It has just says Candidate Kit Submitted 100% and has a January 15th date with all green checkmarks down the right side. I am not sure what we are looking for on the portal to indicate a new status. Thank you.

I am in the same boat...USMA appointment but waiting on USAFA. I have heard that the part that says "candidate kit submitted 100%" will say "your decision is ready" instead when there is a decision. Hopefully we hear something soon!
 
Just FYI, the USAFA Appointments List Class of 2026 includes at least one appointee to USAFAPS. Therefore, it is not reflecting the correct direct appointments number.

There is no 'correct' number. Of the roughly 1400 spaces between the academy and the prepschool the prepschool has avg 200 and the academy has avg 1200 since 2016. Those that know about the list seem to represent roughly 15% of appointments give or take the academy/preschool candidate distribution.

When I say correct number, I am referring to the number posted on the forum. Not the total.
 
I vote that USAFA PS and other FFS recipients post to a separate thread, as has been done in years past. After their prep school year, assuming they capitalize on their "golden ticket" opportunity, they can post their appointment to the USAFA class of '27. After all, they are not in the USAFA Class of '26. Of course a moderator would have to make that call. Congrats to the Prep School and Falcon Foundation recipients!

Some PS appointees received a very confusing appointment notification. It appeared they had been appointed to the academy but later received a clarification. Probably due to the new system.

MN here. I've heard nothing. Still waiting with the same candidate kit 100% submitted message in my portal. The only person I know of in MN that has heard back is an athlete with an LOA

I'm from MI and have the same candidate kit 100% message on my portal too. I have only noticed one person with an acceptance from MI. Hopefully, we get some news soon!
