We immediately booked an Airbnb because we are a family of 6 and wanted the whole family to experience for I day, eventually we cancelled that and booked 2 rooms at the Academy hotel…best decision ever! He met up with so many other kids (they all started chatting through Instagram, I’m sure there is already a page for 2026). Each day he met more and it was so fun to have that energy around the days leading up….. They had plans each day and families were all around to chat with. As far as the list to bring (list shows up in portal when all other things are finished…. Lots of paperwork) take it seriously and bring nothing else. They will survive with what is issued. And then best advice ever I got from our local club, as many don’t go out for A Day as you only actually get to spend 3-4 hours with them but if you can swing it at all……go! He will be so happy to see you! And they will be able to tell you before hand what they need/want and bring it then. Our Doolie is thriving, happy and counting down the days to recognition! What an accomplishment for your son, enjoy every minute until I Day. Forums were best before appointment, but most of your best information will be on USAFA parent 2026 page going closer.

When you say "Academy Hotel" do you mean the Thayer?

Thanks I wasnt sure if some of those on the list reporting appointments were for the prep school

My DS from WV was just notified on Monday that he has been offered USAFA Class of 2026. He had already been offered USMMA and USMA classes of 2026, and had accepted USMA. He really wants to fly so he will notify USMA that he is accepting the USAFA offer (I asked that he do this immediately once he determines how that is done to not delay notification to other USMA candidates, he's contacting USAFA tomorrow) to determine the process). Hopefully not a difficult administrative thing to do and happens somewhat routinely. Good luck to all in the process!

Can one receive a TWE for not having a nomination? I have a friend who's also applying to USAFA and she, unfortunately, does not have any nomination yet, she has already for a VP nom a few months ago. The wait is really stressing her out :bounce1:

You CAN receive a TWE for a lot of things. Not having a nominations means you’re chances are very slim for appointment. The VP nom only goes to one person

Which part of WV? We originally lived in Southern WV about an hour south of Charleston. We now live in Northern KY.
