We have not heard anything nor has my son's classmates, at least not for USAFA.Has anyone heard of any Virginia candidates becoming appointees?
Thx,

That was my thought process. Last semester, I got super high a’s in ap calc and physics, as well as jumped my gpa up .5 points on the 100 scale. But at the end of the day I guess admissions just didn’t want the 7th semester from me.Admissions never asked me to submit my 7th semester transcript, but I still asked my guidance counselor. She told me that she usually doesn't send in 7th semester transcripts unless the school specifically asks for it or if there is a significant jump in GPA or rank. My GPA improved, but not by much, so I didn't send mine in. I agree with what @Tropic Justice said: every candidate is different. Admissions might ask for the new grades, and they may not. Even if admissions doesn't ask, talk to your counselor and see if your stats have improved at all. In my opinion, if your stats have significantly improved, why not send it in; what is the worst that can happen?
I don't know, I am from Virginia myself and none of my classmates have heard back. It may be because of choosing appointment slots because of the high concentration of qualified candidate (especially in Northern VA) but that answer is a pure shot in the dark.Has anyone heard of any Virginia candidates becoming appointees?

That seems to be the case for all of us. I’ve heard from MMA but it sounds like I won’t hear from USAFA until March. Could end up being a nice bday present… or not…We have not heard anything nor has my son's classmates, at least not for USAFA.
Yeah I live in the middle of nowhere so it’s hard to compete against the NOVA kids. Luckily, I just have to beat out the other kids in my congressional district.I don't know, I am from Virginia myself and none of my classmates have heard back. Lucky you, I'm in the hardest area of NOVA and my chances this year are pretty slim.Yeah I live in the middle of nowhere so it’s hard to compete against the NOVA kids. Luckily, I just have to beat out the other kids in my congressional district.

My DS received a call from his MOC on 1/16/22 and the nomination has yet to appear in his portal. Is it true that 1/31/22 was last day for SAs to receive nominations?DS received MOC nomination via snail mail 21 December. According to the MOC's office they submitted names on 31 January... and see his name in their portal... but it is still not showing in DS USAFA portal. Anyone else KNOW they received a nom, but STILL is not showing up on their end as a completed checklist item?
Hello! My DS received an LOA of sorts 11/18/2021 and his appt offer came 1/11/2022. He is not a recruited athlete, his SAT scores + GPA were good but some others most likely have better.I understand that a majority of the appointments get released in March. I was just curious for those that are already getting appointments,. Are many of these early appointments individuals recruited athletes, high SAT/ACT scores, high GPA, etc?
yes my DS is the same boat. My DS received nomination on 12/15/2021 and MOC said they submitted last week of December. Yet The portal hasn't shown up the checklistDS received MOC nomination via snail mail 21 December. Yes, I have a relative who received an appointment with a presidential nomination. It is highly possible they had multiple nominations but definitely has a presidential.Does anyone know of appointments being offered yet for those with Presidential nominations? I only see senator/MOC on the Class of 2026 appointment list.
What state are you in? It seems like the majority of appointments are going to kids from western states right now.Ds high scores and strong leadership but no LOA and not a recruited athlete. He submitted requested AMI on 1/3, received the waiver on 1/4, the Nom on 1/6 and the appointment on 1/15. He never expected things to move that quickly. None of us did.
