I feel one of your many roads begins as an officer in the best Air Force in the world! AFROTC? Perhaps. USAFA? Perhaps. Based on what I gather from your posts you are wise beyond your years and success is right around the corner. p.s. I think you are definitely still in the running for for an appointment this cycle. In all seriousness, I do appreciate that, truly. I look forward to have the opportunity to serve in the world’s greatest Air Force regardless of my commission source. That is why I do AFROTC, do it well, and love doing it.

For lots of other reasons including medical and career oriented, USAFA is the best track to my career path. And even if wasn’t for not worrying about EAs, pilot selection rates, stipends, and benefits… even if I had to pay to go, I would accept an appointment in a heartbeat. I imagine many here feel the same way, and that’s why the wait feels so taxing and appointments feel so rewarding. Just the way the world works.

I see 10 with Presidential noms. That’s around 10% which is average for appointments. However, it is very hard to extrapolate anything with such small sample size. I would also suggest that a lot of candidates with presidential noms are not on this board for various reasons.

As with all of the other guesses above, any attempt to try and make solid proclamation about what is happening, how many appointments have been given out, or how long you will wait is futile.

Letter of Assurance, they are usually released early in the admissions process if the candidate hasn’t been cleared medically or received a nomination. There is an Acronym List on this forum somewhere, someone might be able to help you find that, it’s not in a specific thread or anything.

Not sure the total of how many appointments AK can get this year, but I know they sometimes take a few extras if preps get appointments.

My guess is all the initial ones were given out, now they fill the voids they missed once the dist settles and backfill the declines.

Initial moc and sen vacant slots, and based on yeary average percentage of how many report. Its simply a guess. Nobody knows for sure unless you work in admissions.
