Questions, Chatter, Congrats for the 2026 USAFA Appointment Thread

Judgement Day tomorrow for a bunch of us. Unfortunately, there is a spectacularly high probability that us non-appointees up to this point could be staring down the barrel of a loaded TWE, sorry for being pessimistic.
I’m not sure I would give up all hope if tomorrow comes and goes and there is still no news. I’m sure most of you read Steve’s response on the other thread.

“I'm curious as to your source for tomorrow being a "special" day?

I just reviewed my ALO communications from March 24th to now...there's no "date for sending out mass non-select messages." Perhaps in the past April 21st was a day that happened, I don't know. However, I do know that while the majority of offers have been made, USAFA/RRS has not informed the ALO force of a "mass non-select" date.”

Don’t give up yet! You’ve made it through a grueling, intimidating application process. Don’t let a few more days bring you down. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Keep up the good fight and spirit! My DS is still holding out hope but also has a great plan B in place with an ROTC scholarship. I’m probably more stressed out over this than he is!! Lol!

I wish all you candidates (and parents) nothing but the best of luck as I know it takes so much hard work just to make it this far!

Anybody apply and receive ROTC scholarship(s)? Awesome backup plans, thank God I received a Type 1 AFROTC and 4-year NROTC scholarships, so if the USAFA pulls the rug under my feet tomorrow I'm thankfully in solid shape going
Unless it's an appointment..
It is when i get mail…. Anything but bills lol

I’m dying💀! Your sense of humor continues to entertain the rest of us (not so) patiently waiting for judgement day tomorrow.
Happy to be of service. This process is incredibly stressful for those who get in, don't, and the inbetweeners. The least I could do is make some people laugh a little while they're at it. Many in ROTC just think I have an outgoing personality, but it's part of my leadership style. There are times to be locked-on so you are still taken seriously, and still a distance to be maintained to be professional, but humor is a tool to raise morale and build camaraderie. Just like any other issue- it is another tool in the toolkit. I take from the wisdom of Maslow's hammer: If all you have is a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail. :p

To what school(s) did you receive scholarships?

Yes, my DS has a 4 year Space Force at a Tech college in Missouri.

Yes, our DS received a Type 7 AFROTC scholarship to Utah State University. Great plan B for sure and it seems like a great detachment there. We are very thankful for that!

Has anyone received TWES yet today?
No update here. No news still good news. Hopefully.
Fun antidote for the parents here: my DS is totally chill about the whole thing, I on the other hand have been a little more anxious. So today, knowing it's 'judgment day' he decideds to prank me by partially disassembling his computer. Oh I'm going to miss this kiddo. Too bad for him though as he forgets where he learned his computer skills! So Ha lol! I have considered taking it back apart before he gets home from school 🙃 😅
