When you have 2min to shower and change and four shower heads (one of which is being occupied by cadre) and you are four girls to a shower head, you will stop caring.

Dang!! I actually had the SAME experience, from a guy's perspective. After the first day at SLS no one really cared. We were being shuffled around so much and moving from place to place so fast it didn't seem like there was time to. There were some guys who wore compression shorts in there and stuff, but that really just made it 'wierd' for everyone else..... However, I would definitely agree that people were much more 'sensitive' at USAFA. Nice observation, I wondered if I was the only one who noticed it....

For me, at SLS everyone was pretty awkward about it up until Military Day at the end; after rolling around in a pit of mulch for combatives, everyone was just so happy to see running water that it didn't matter anymore

Haha I remember my first night at BCT at Fort Benning where all 60 of us stood there in the barracks with a towel on and the drill sergeant said you have five minutes to get a shower. Everyone scrambled to the shower and walked in and walked right back out. 60 people in a shower room with 8 heads in it. I think we got it done in 3 mins

Definetely many times like that during cbt. About 22 girls per co, 4 showerheads, and most of the time the new cadets can only use two since the cadre take the other two. It doesnt really matter.

What is the best method to "breaking in" the boots I will wear at Beast?

Are all PT runs at Beast ran in running shoes, or should I practice running in the boots I purchase as well?

For cadets or alumni, how did you personally break in your boots and low quarters?

1. Wear your boots everywhere you possible can as early as possible before CBT
2. Nearly all the running will be done in tennis shoes. You'll mostly ruck/sprint with boots so nah, I wouldn't run in them
3. Just wore em for several weeks before CBT

Just wear them. That's all it takes. No need to soak them.

I'm trying to understand the fitness preparation plan that's included with the 2nd Admissible mailing. For instance, this layout for a day of push-ups & sit-ups:

PU1: 25/15*
PU2: 25/15
PU3: 25/20
PU4: 20/20
PU5: 20/20
SU1: 45/20
SU2: 45/20
SU3: 30/30
SU4: 30/30

Is it seconds executing said exercise/seconds rest, or something else? If so, the document lists 6 types of push-ups (and 4 sit-ups) yet this layout only goes through PU5...

It lists five types, repeats normal twice.

Normal
Feet Elevated
Wide Out
Normal
Close
Modified.

Not sure why. Maybe to show the distance between the hands in the picture. Not sure if it is pushups reps/rest time or reps for time/rest time.

You're right, interesting. I guess it makes more sense for it to be pushups reps/rest time...

I think the asterisk is referring the bottom of the table on page 4 where it says "*Controlling your rate of descent on sit-ups is important in improving your sit-up performance."

Does anyone know why you can't attend the Ranger School summer program during West Point summers or at an ROTC college anymore?

I believe the reason is that a cadet doesn't have enough time in the summer to complete Ranger school. A current cadet or grad will need to confirm though. I think this has been discussed before if you want to search for it.

Ranger School is 61 days. Ranger School most likely requires more time than is available during West Point summers.

Also,

1.) How many pairs of running shoes do we need? 1 or 2?

2.) Should we bring boot socks?
