When I list the three Universities I am looking at, am I supposed to list them in order of preference? For example, if my favored school was number 3 in the list, is there a chance that I may receive a scholarship offer for the first two and not the third? Thanks

Jared

AFROTC is different from AROTC or NROTC in that the scholarships are not school specific. So I don't think that order of colleges matters at all. In fact if you are awarded a scholarship, you can use it at any college that offers the major that you have been approved and has an AFROTC DET.

Any college that offers the major that you have been approved and has an AFROTC Detachment AND meets the conditions of the Type AFROTC scholarship you are awarded.

Thanks Aglages. I forgot about the type of scholarship. Ops.

Caveat: the college must accept the AFROTC scholarship, but that doesn't mean that they have an AFROTC det. UMDCP is the host det for colleges around the area, including VA and WV.

Do not rule out colleges if they do not have a AFROTC det on campus. As long has they allow x town than you are good to go.

As others have stated the AF couldn't care who you take the scholarship to, it is not like NROTC or AROTC. It is transferable, the major is the issue.

In other words if you are thinking of working the system by applying for tech and changing majors to a non-tech once enrolled, DO NOT TAKE THE LEAP THAT YOU WILL STILL KEEP THE SCHOLARSHIP. You will have to get their approval to change fields.
