I am not an admissions officer, but I know that (on paper, at least) I am a highly competitive candidate. 2200 sat, never had a b on my transcript, 11 AP classes, 2 varsity sports, captain of one, other leadership and service, received an LOE and 3q in early November, completed my file (all but the medical portion) in August, etc... A friend of mine from my school received the principal nom from our district, and was admitted in the first wave. I received a nom, just not the principle nom. Are my chances of being admitted hurt by having someone from my relatively small class already appointed? I hope I don't sound spiteful here, I'm really happy for my friend- he absolutely deserves it. Thanks for any replies!
