Hello all, I was an applicant for the class of 2026 but failed to receive a nomination. I applied for a national Army ROTC scholarship and was also not selected. I was severely bummed about the situation but I persevered through the rest of my senior year and finished strong as an honor grad for my class. I was given an academic scholarship to attend The Citadel this Fall and recently I was awarded a 4 year Advanced Designee Minuteman scholarship from my state's National Guard. All in all I understand I have a pretty great thing going for me, but I have to ask am I still eligible to apply for USMA or any other service academy? The wording on my MM nomination letter states: "He's been counseled that his scholarship cannot be revoked in effort to compete for a commission in the active component". If anyone has any experience with a similar situation or knows the answer I would greatly appreciate the input.

Sounds like you're in the catbird's seat. Grab the Citadel scholarship, in my opinion.

If you get a West Point appointment later and choose that route, it doesn't sound the Citadel will object.

Based on your post, of course. Don't sue me if I'm wrong.

Oh, and congats!

The wording of the letter sounds to my novice ears like you have options. But I would seriously defer to others who have expertise with this.
Congrats. And I applaud your dogged nature.

You can take the Minuteman Scholarship and still choose to reapply to USMA if that is the decision path you would like to follow.
