I applied to the USNA's Class of 2025 this past admissions cycle, but was unsuccessful in receiving an appointment to the academy. This year I have decided to reapply to the USNA for the Class of 2026. I will be going to college and will be taking part in ROTC at my university. Is there any advice available that I can use during my reapplying process such as extracurriculars to take part in, classes to take, athletics to take part in, etc?

Would agree with @IbParent that the pinned post by @usna1985 was very helpful for DS as well as his parents ;) Our experience is limited to DS events. Thanks but no thanks for USNA, USAFA, USMMA, and NROTC HS scholarship after HS graduation but non military scholarships fully covered freshman year at four year collage. Taking a course load mirroring USNA as much as possible with NROTC as plan C or perhaps even D or F. End result was appointments to USNA and USMMA as well as three year NROTC scholarship. I believe his success in course work and NROTC participation were keys to his eventual appointment after reapply. Wish the best for all and key seems to be moving forward with alternative plans that show that you can make it at USNA.
